Multi-role CBRN respirator maskProtection

The FM53 is a multi-role respiratory protective mask that works as a negative pressure air-purifying respirator and as a positive pressure SCBA or PAPR from one mask platform, switched with a lever. It is available with right, left or twin filter ports and protects against chemical and biological warfare agents and select toxic industrial materials.

    Multi-Mode Protection

    The FM53 offers positive pressure SCBA, PAPR and negative pressure APR capability from one mask platform without changing components. A VREU lever switches between negative and positive pressure modes.

    Special Forces

    Avon developed the FM53 for specialist users who must respond to changing operational conditions, and lists military and special forces among its users. A low profile design aids weapons integration.

    CBRN Threats

    The system addresses threats met on the modern battlefield, in counter terrorism and in peacekeeping, protecting against traditional chemical and biological warfare agents and select toxic industrial materials.

    First Responders

    First responders are listed among FM53 users. An electronic communication port supports integrated voice projection and radio communication.
